Garage Sale at CHKC
Saturday May 15, 2004.

This event, organized by Lyssa and Gillian, raised $722.55 for CHKC. We raised money, awareness and promoted other events. Thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated and shopped - you made our sale a success.

GBC Open House & Intervenor Job Fair
Wednesday March 31, 2004,
11:00 a.m., GBC, St. James Campus,
6th Floor Gymnasium.

Hosted by the George Brown College Intervenor Program.

This is always a great opportunity for potential students to find out about the Intervenor Program and for graduating students to learn about employment possibilities.

This year, GBC IV Students sold tickets for a 3 foot chocolate rabbit - then donated all the proceeds to CHKC and CDBRA. Thank you to the students who raised $514.35 for CHKC.

The New You Image Fundraising Event
Thursday March 25, 2004, 3:00 p.m.

Hosted by Rotary Cheshire Apartments (RCA), 422 Willowdale Avenue and Jolene Janke of Mary Kay Cosmetics.

The event included an 8”x10” Glamour Portrait, make-up consultation and makeover, hairstyle & wardrobe planning, fashion show, $25 worth of Mary Kay products, a $25 Gift Certificate from Donlands Jewelers and a $15 Gift Certificate from Melanie Pringles Restaurant. $20 from each participant’s fee was donated CHKC.

Thank you to Jolene for organizing “The New You Image Event” and the "Eyes Only Promotion" for The Canadian Helen Keller Centre, Inc. In the "Eyes Only Promotion", CHKC will receive a portion of the proceeds from Jolene's divisional sales of TimeWise Age-Fighting Eye Cream. Please visit Jolene at JuneFest 2004.

"The New You Image Event" raised $365.10. The results from the "Eyes Only Promotion" will be posted in July.

Achilles St. Patrick's Day 5K Run/Walk
Sunday March 14, 2004.

Thanks to everyone for coming out and walking for CHKC in the annual Achilles St. Patrick's Day 5K Fun Run/Walk.

This event, organized by Achilles Track Club, allows CHKC and other organizations like it, to raise funds by donating all the pledge dollars collected by its runners. It is an excellent opportunity for everyone to participate in fundraising, raise public awareness and experience personal success.

Special thank you to Thomas Gaffney for organizing both teams. Thomas donates a lot of his own time looking for sponsorship, walkers and pledges. He also serves as our inspiration ... good luck to Thomas in his next marathon.
