The
Canadian Helen Keller Centre, Inc. Newsletter
Index of Online Volumes
Bridging
Hands has been produced
with the financial support of Canada Post Corporation.
Literacy is Canada Post's corporate charitable focus.
Bridging Hands has
a distribution of approximately 950 per quarter (not including
copies downloaded from the website, copies forwarded by original
recipients through email or paper copies passed on to others.)
The objective is to increase distribution to include
all persons who are Deaf-Blind as well as to educate persons
who come into contact with persons who are Deaf-Blind. These
areas include education, nursing & nursing homes, government
and disability service providers and supporters.
So few know about Deaf-Blindness and it is only through
education that people will learn about the disability, the
available services and the need to increase services.
The
newsletter is produced 4 times per year in various accessible
formats. We provide electronic, Braille and large print.
To
become a subscriber, please email CHKC.

The Canadian
Helen Keller Centre is the first skills training centre
in Canada where individuals who are Deaf-Blind can upgrade or
gain independent living and technical skills.
Through our web site, our goal is to inform persons
who are deaf-blind, their families, service providers, volunteers,
supporters, and the general public about the needs, concerns
and challenges of persons living with both vision and hearing
loss.
