CHKC Camp for Canadians who are deafblind

The first annual CHKC Camp for Canadians who are deafblind was held at Shadow Lake Centre in Stouffville, Ontario in September 2023.

The two day excursion was met with enthusiasm by both consumers and CHKC staff alike and it identified a need to bring CHKC’s deafblind community together for social activities outside of 422 Willowdale Ave. and the Training Centre to reduce isolation and build relationships.

In 2024 the second annual CHKC Camp took place once again at Shadow Lake Centre in September 2024. This time we expanded it to three full days with 13 CHKC consumers, 14 intervenors and 16 students from the George Brown Deafblind & Intervenors Studies Program.

However, sending consumers to camp comes at a cost. We would like your help to send a consumer to camp in the summer of 2025.

Our Goal

Our goal is to fundraise $20,000 to expand next year’s camp to one full week.

That’s why we are asking for your help.
